01

Do not charge material only

Material cost is only one part of the selling price. A profitable price should include electricity, machine wear, labor, packaging, failed print risk, platform fees, and profit margin.

02

Use margin instead of random markup

A 40% margin means profit is 40% of the final sale price, not 40% added on top of cost. The formula is final price = total cost / (1 - margin).

03

Batch orders need total pricing

For multiple units, calculate a per-unit price and a total batch price. Batch production may reduce labor per unit, but it can increase risk if a long print fails near the end.
