Restore bed adhesion before changing many slicer settings

Most first-layer failures come from plate contamination, an incorrect plate/profile choice, or calibration—not from the model.

Let the plate cool, then wash it with dish soap and water. Dry it with a clean lint-free towel and avoid touching the print area.
Confirm the correct printer, nozzle diameter, build plate, and filament profile in the slicer.
Run bed levelling and the printer's normal calibration routine.
Print a small first-layer test. Change only one variable if part of the test still fails.
Use a brim only after the basic first layer is consistent.

Keep the original manufacturer profile, record each test, and save a new profile only after the result is repeatable.

Stop when hardware may be unsafe

Turn the printer off and follow its manufacturer documentation if you see damaged wiring, smoke, severe grinding, or a hotend collision you cannot clear safely.
